Moss's 3 November 1814 letter to the cashier of the Bank of Alexandria (Va.) request him to determine the authenticity of notes drawn on his banks and requests him to return the notes with necessary testimony to convict. Endorsements on the back attest that the notes were, indeed, counterfeit.
